Here's a picture from our end of summer road trip when we were in the heart of the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. We had to cross a one lane bridge 230 feet above a gushing river both going in to the park and going out. We had heard that to appease the tire gods it was necessary to toss a stone into the river halfway across the bridge. So we stopped halfway across and tossed a stone each! And no flat tire over a total of 120 miles of dirt road!
